Why maths marks slip — and what we do about it
Mathematics is unusually unforgiving: a gap in Grade 8 algebra quietly wrecks Grade 11 trigonometry three years later. Most learners who arrive at Scholar House needing a maths tutor in Windhoek are not "bad at maths" — they are carrying two or three specific unfixed foundations and compensating with memorisation.
Our first job is diagnosis. A short written and verbal assessment shows exactly which concepts are missing, and the tutoring plan is built backwards from there. It is faster than it sounds: closing three foundation gaps often lifts a mark more than a term of general revision would.
From there, lessons alternate between rebuilding the missing layer and staying current with class work, so the learner never falls further behind while catching up. Exam preparation is built into the same session.

Frequently asked
Questions about maths tutoring in Windhoek
How much does a maths tutor in Windhoek cost?
Rates depend on grade, session length and whether lessons are individual or in a small group. See our packages page or send a WhatsApp to +264 81 701 5671 with your learner's grade and we'll send the current rate card the same day.
Which maths curriculum do you follow?
We follow the curriculum your learner is already sitting: IB, IGCSE, NSSCO, CAPS or IEB mathematics, from Grade 6 through Grade 11.
Where do maths lessons take place?
All lessons are in person at 1@Steps Building, Kleine Kuppe, Windhoek.
My child is far behind. Is it too late?
Rarely. Most learners who are behind are missing three or four specific foundations, not the whole subject. The first session is a diagnostic that finds those gaps so the work is targeted rather than a full syllabus restart.
